01It starts on its own
A file lands, a clock ticks, another system calls, or someone presses go. Relay is already watching.
Automation for media operations
Relay watches for the work, reads every file that arrives, and carries what it finds through naming, sorting, and delivery — start to finish, without anyone babysitting it.
Card offloadShoot / dated01:48How it works
The repetitive work in a facility is the same three moves over and over: notice that something arrived, work out what it is, put it where it goes. Relay does all three.
01A file lands, a clock ticks, another system calls, or someone presses go. Relay is already watching.
02Relay reads each file and carries what it learns into every step that follows.
03Files get named, sorted, delivered, and handed off — then the whole run is there to review.
What it does
Every step below is something you drop into a workflow and connect. Combine them however the job demands — there is no separate tier and nothing held back.

Works with your MAM
Your catalog lives in the cloud. Your media does not. When something happens in Iconik, Relay picks up the job, does the work on your own hardware, and records the result back in Iconik.
Someone picks an action in Iconik, or a rule fires on its own. Iconik adds the job to Relay's work queue.
Relay picks up the work on your network without opening your network to the outside world.
Files move on your storage at your network's speed. Nothing round-trips to the cloud to get processed.
Relay writes the result straight back into Iconik — updated fields, new locations, the outcome of the job.
Metadata mapping
Relay reads what each file is carrying and puts those values to work immediately — the name of the folder it lands in, the name it gets renamed to, the destination it is delivered to. Naming conventions enforce themselves, and the spreadsheet someone was maintaining to keep it all straight stops being necessary.

Setting a workflow up is a one-afternoon job. Living with it is the rest of the year. Relay keeps every run, every step, and every failure in plain view, so a question takes a minute instead of a morning.
